UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside and UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh have received Centers of Excellence designation by the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging. The center of excellence designation recognizes the commitment to clinical care, delivery of therapy with strong follow-up, and research in the field.

The American College of Radiology (ACR) appointed Frank J. Lexa, MD, MBA, FACR to serve as the 2022-2023 Vice President. New officers begin serving immediately. Dr. Lexa currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer of the Radiology Leadership Institute of the ACR. He co-led the ACR’s most recent Five Year Strategic Planning process cycle which was completed in 2022. He is also the current chair of the ACR International Economics Committee and a member of the ACR International Commission. In 2022, he began a three-year term as the chair of the Intersociety Committee which brings together the key organizations in US radiology.

UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh (CHP) had a strong presence at the annual Society of Pediatric Radiology (SPR) meeting in Denver, held April 27^th to May 1^st, 2022. This was a Hybrid meeting, with a significant number of SPR members returning to the meeting in person for the first time, while remaining members participated virtually. CHP faculty agreed it was great to be back to an “in person” meeting!
